More New York Cheap Eats

15 11 2007

Now that you know how to eat at a cheap restaurant in New York here is a list for Cheap Eats in New York from New York Magazine.

I like Ikea

13 11 2007

Only Ikea, the store that made cheap partical board trendy, can deliver trendy food at prices just as cheap. I had forgotten about Ikea’s food until a recent trip to Atlanta. I didn’t get a chance to dig in this day, but I hope to get back there soon for a cheap dinner! Here is a good review I found on another site.

New York is pretty big

6 02 2007

Next to St. Louis, my temporary hometown, New York has the most entries on this blog so far. Is that because it’s so big? Maybe there are lots of cheap restaurants? Or maybe its so expensive everyone is looking for a cheap eat? Hmm. . . . No matter what your answer is, here is a Chowhound post for cheap eats in the Big Apple (West Village).

Really, how big is New York

5 02 2007

I’ve been to many places in my life, but never New York City (unless you count a layover at JFK 10 years ago) so I really don’t know where this is-but here is a Chowhound post for cheap eats with WOW in Jackson Heights.

Hunter College Cheap Eats

4 02 2007

Do you know Hunter College? Well, if you do you’re in luck because here is a Chowhound post on cheap eats in the Hunter College area. By the way, if you don’t know Hunter College, it’s in Manhattan.

The Chownhound trend continues-here is a list of cheap breakfast joints in the East Village.

Lonely Planet & Ayun

4 01 2007

This is the first in a series of posts compliments from a post I made on Lonely Planet’s ThornTree board announcing this site and asking for submissions. I decided to break them up into separate posts so each poster could receive proper credit and so the city categories would not be overloaded.

Our first submission comes from Ayun. Even though she hasn’t given me the plug she promised yet, I’ll give her one! She has a wildly eclectic food blog and some great recommendations for Cheap Eats in NYC and Chicago.

Because it’s a rainy lazy day I’m will just copy and paste:

my favorite cheap eats here in nyc are
The Doyers Restaurant on Doyers in Chinatown
The Vegetarian Dim Sum House, also in Chinatown
Wonton Garden in, all together now, Chinatown!
and the banh mi from Banh Mi So #1 on Broome St.

in Chicago
Jim’s Grill – I’m assuming it’s still there and cheap – on Irving Park
Angel’s diner on Clark St for Mexican breakfasts!

Another Day Another New York List

10 12 2006

I guess when you’re as big as New York City you can have lots of sites featuring great cheap eats. So today we are piggybacking off of this December 8 post with a local blog on Midtown’s best lunch spots for under $10. Fittingly it is called Midtown Lunch.
